DJ SOTOFETT releases four mini-albums digitally in August 2020. Following the experimental "Recovery Of Wave-Edit Album From 2006" is a collection of seven straight forward Acid House & Techno tracks produced in Bergen 2005. All releases will be available on djsotofett.bandcamp.com before they later will be distributed on all digital download and streaming platforms.

ACID (House & Techno) is as idiosyncratic as Dub and Blues, you have to be teeth grittingly into it to be able to properly execute anything decent. Jori Hulkkonen stated "Can you handle the acid?" when publishing a DJ-mix in 2006, followed by the Sex Tags Mania release with his quote as EP title and also including a remix by Helsinki's Acid Kings. Jori himself is one of the thrown sitters of Acid from above the equator – a particular highlight is the "Keys Of Life Remixes" EP issued by Keys of Life which features his Acid Rap. The same Finnish label released in 2006 a total game changer for Post-2000 Acid, Tin Man's "Love Sex Acid" and also the "Keys Of Life Acid" EP. Together with Skatebård and DJ Fett Burger I received test pressings of both the latter records at our locally infamous Errotaja Bar gig 10th of June 2006 in Helsinki. That same evening of this Acid & House (and Italo) bonanza I got the re-press of Sähkö Recordings first release Ø's "Röntgen", which in my opinion carries one of the all time top 5 best Acid tracks, "Tutka"! As a side note, "Acid Krank" featured on the release this press text is about was made in Bergen days before the above mentioned Helsinki trip, and was also premiered that night at Errotaja Bar.

Back in Bergen, some years earlier, there was a very good community with Techno parties, mostly illegal, in small warehouses, and maybe more exotic – in the forests, mountains and by the fjords surrounding the city. The parties were a mix of various types of Techno, sometimes Psy-Trance, and Breakbeat – all sharing some Acid in the middle. A main stayer in this scene is Lupo, a producer, mastering engineer and live artist on countless raves and underground parties. Just as important as his live shows, Lupo made the undeniably best Acid track title from Norway – "Acid over Danmarksplass" – a deep, clanky acidic tracker released by Bergen label Ploink many years after it's making. The tradition of "Bergensk Acid" is well alive today, mixed with tribal and grit, and stubbornly executed by Club No-No's Snorre Magnar Solberg.

During the period of 2004-06 I continuously got angry complaints from "music people" telling me I was an idiot for buying a Roland TR-909 for the outrageous amount of what is equivalent to EUR 600 today – "It has only 11 sounds, and you can just use samples on a computer instead!". Maybe to those people's pleasure, the "Bergen Acid Boss 2005" tracks are not made with my TR-909, they're made with the ReBirth RB-338 software by Propellerheads and a very small mouse on a laptop. This set of test takes, pattern runs and tracks from the bin, are dedicated to the in-door days in Bergen, and all the great music created between the seven mountains by all the real "tjommies".
